Walking The Boardwalk, Hastings
We’ve heard a few times about ‘The Boardwalk’ in Barbados but never actually seen anything advertised for it, so this is a little bit of a hidden treasure to tourists. The more we did hear about it the more we wanted to go check it out! We found out that it is a long stretch of coastline (in Hastings) with a long walkway for you to enjoy – and that is exactly what we did!
It’s easy to find, you just aim for ‘Rockley Beach’ and it begins at the top end of the beach! It only took us about 20 minutes (walking slowly) to complete and then another 15/20 minutes to walk back. It’s not long, it’s about a mile so an easy walk for every-day strollers however exercise-lovers simply just loop back & forth in order to total however many miles they wish to achieve. It is clearly loved by many locals, you have a constant passing of joggers, dog walkers and fast-walkers (and obviously the more laid back slow-walkers like us!)
The ambience is super friendly, there are a handful of great restaurants & bars along the path with plenty of seating areas dotted along the way to sit down and enjoy the view of the coastline.
Here are some photos we managed to take during our walk (annoyingly it was a little overcast!):
Happy Travels 🙂
